DIY CHANDELIERS: CREATIVE IDEAS
The
chandeliers give a light and a more complete look to any room, but often we
don't always find the one that meets our needs and our tastes. Not to mention
that many of the most original and design chandeliers have a considerable cost.
So how to do
it if we want to save money but have a touch of originality and lighting that
highlights a room or all of them?
With
ingenuity we can make a DIY chandelier that perfectly meets our tastes and the
style of our furniture!
For example,
if we have a living room with exposed beams or a tavern to be illuminated we
could make a chandelier made of glass vases, such as those of preserves or
alternatively in a crystal (scotch bottles). How to do? Just cut the bottom part,
insert a bulb holder cable long enough to connect it and then insert the light.
The game is
done.
But a
suggestion before making it must be given.
You need to
choose the type of lighting and the effect you want, so you have to focus on
the shapes (drop, round, pear, large, medium or small); the type of light if
hot or cold; the type of bulb if classic or LED.
Here for the
latter point the best advice is definitely to fall back on the choice of LED bulbs.
True that
they prove to be more expensive initially, but the saving over time is
considerable, as they have a greater resistance and their consumption is very
low.
But back to
us. Another very nice idea in the presence of beams is to create a series of
possibly dark electric wires, to twist around the wood and then hang simple
light bulbs.
Should we
instead, find an alternative that forces us to install directly on the ceiling?
Perfect! Buy
a stick about 80 cm long in chromed or polished steel (here your own taste
takes over), the thickness must not be exaggerated but able to bear the right
weight; colored or single-colored ropes and cables depending on the type of
furniture or room; bulbs of different sizes in order to alternate them.
Twist the
wires around the stick and fix it to the ceiling, letting the bulbs go down. If
you like a more rustic style, you can use a strong wooden stick instead of a
steel one.
These are
just some ideas of how to make a DIY chandelier!
Now have fun
studying the one that's right for you and make it happen, based on your tastes
and your needs.
It will be
funny!
